Bedding manufacturer American Textile Company announced the expansion of its U.S. operations with a new, state-of-the-art warehousing and distribution facility in Tifton, Ga. The new facility more-than-doubled shipping capacity to keep up with growing customer demand in both traditional retail and e-commerce sectors.
Hunt Industries, a full-service provider of high-quality specialty construction and general contracting services for industrial projects expanded its operations in Valdosta-Lowndes County, Georgia. This expansion will create 30 new jobs and represent a capital investment of $5 million.
Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe, home of the number one branded hamburger roll in the United States, expanded its bakery in Valdosta-Lowndes County to increase production capacity. The industry added more than 30 jobs while increasing its facility size more than 100,000 square feet.

Our fertile land makes for one of the best agricultural regions in the country. Our Georgia peanuts are used in Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Snickers candy bars, and a multitude of other foods. Other common food products made in South Georgia include Arizona Iced Tea, Combos, Martin’s Famous Pastries, Flowers Foods, Miller and Coors Beer, and numerous others.
